Honoring Hispanic Heritage
Hispanic Heritage Month is an annual celebration in the United States that spans from September 15th to October 15th, featuring nationwide events, exhibitions, and education, celebrating the vibrant Hispanic culture that has helped shape the U.S.
To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month here at LiveIntent, one of the communities (Juntos) supported by our Employee Resource Group (ERG) framework planned two engaging events. Juntos is an employee-led group that focuses on empowering and supporting those who identify as LatinX and Hispanic employees.
The first event commemorated Día de los Muertos. We teamed up with Airbnb experiences to learn about this spirited Holiday, with our host Marisol, who presented to us live from Mexico City. Marisol taught us how to make papel picado, sugar skulls, the elaborate set-up of altars to honor loved ones, and the history of Día de los Muertos
The second event allowed our local employees to enjoy the wonders of Latin food, as our Juntos ERG sponsored an office lunch from a New York City favorite, Sophie’s Cuban Cuisine. If you’ve never been, we HIGHLY recommend you order extra green sauce (IYKYK). Additionally, as we continue to push ourselves to be more inclusive of our remote employees, we also sent out UberEats gift cards to our non-local Juntos community members so that they could celebrate with us from afar.
